Mariana Peron
Atelierista & Forest School Leader

Hi there, my name is Mariana, I am a mother of a 6-year old and I have worked with children on different creative approaches for over 12 years. I was born and raised in Brazil, and this multicultural aspect is part of my practice and personality. My educational background is composed of a mix of different areas, I like to weave them together and make them all part of my holistic approach. I studied Architecture and graduated in Fine Art and, as well as a visual artist, I am a yoga practitioner and ayurvedic therapist. I’m passionate about the outdoors, and children learning from nature and the environment. I have worked in Forest Schools, beach schools and Reggio Emilia inspired Ateliers. After working in a Technology Atelier, tool use has become part of my identity and strengthened the project work I do with children.

Samantha Sheldrake
Atelierista & Forest School Leader

Hi I'm Sam, I am originally from London where I used to work as a production designer for film and television, creating props and dressing sets on various freelance jobs. Since moving to Worthing in 2019 I have been working as an Atelierista, creating in depth project work with children, exploring various art forms as well as nourishing an interest in sustainability and the natural world. I graduated from UCA with a degree in Arts & Media where I specialised in fine art, I am also a qualified Level 3 early years educator. I absolutely love to travel, some of my most treasured memories are from my time away, helping set up a school in Laos for example or spending time living in communities exploring meditation, mindfulness, yoga and permaculture.

“So much to love at Wild Art. Nature, art and play.

I'm so grateful to have found this extraordinary setting for my daughter.

I didn't know about flexi schooling, but felt that I would like her to have some outdoor learning time in her schedule. She now goes to Wild Arts regularly and is always building and making things, which is what she loves the most. And they have a tree house! What a dream. Thank you Mari and Sam for your brilliant work”.

Wild arts is a truly magical space for your child. My son River (4)has been going now for 6 months and adores it. Sam and Mari are just incredible and each day is so different. From natural crafting and projects to fairy gardens and exploring the forest and always finishing with a fire. He’s come on leaps and bounds and it’s been so good for his development and confidence. My daughter (6) also goes to the holiday clubs and loves it. A unique school setting I didn’t know existed!

What can I say, apart from these two incredible woman came into my life at the right time.
So much devotion, love and care goes into Wild-Arts, my daughter tells me the most amazing adventures they get up to. Mari and Sam are always filling us in and making me feel so at ease as well and my daughter.
A home from home beautiful environment, my daughter can be herself, free and enjoy nature.
So blessed to have you in our lives.
Wild-Arts is truly special. Highly recommend to all

Wild Arts is such a wonderful, nurturing, inclusive space for children. Sam & Mariana have created a safe space for children to explore & thrive in their setting. My daughter has been attending for two years now & has such an amazing rapport with them: she looks forward to coming every week. Ideal Forest School for home educated children (4-11 years) but they welcome everyone.
I will highlight how outstanding they are with neurodiverse children: they both have a special gift of being in-tune with each individual & the small sized groups allow a more personalised experience.

"Wild Arts Forest School has been absolutely incredible for my son. He had been struggling in a traditional school environment, but from the moment he joined Wild Arts, everything began to change. Their days are filled with real adventure—child-led exploration, hands-on learning, and the most nurturing, supportive atmosphere you could imagine.
The team truly sees each child, and they’ve helped my son rediscover his confidence, curiosity, and joy. Every afternoon, I look forward to their daily diaries. Seeing what he’s been up to—whether it’s building shelters, identifying wildlife, or working together with other children—fills my heart with pure joy.
I’m so grateful for the magic they create in the forest. Wild Arts Forest School has made such a positive difference in our lives, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. I’m now very grateful that my son can access both school and forest school and he looks forward to it every week"

"What Sam & Mari have created at Wild Arts, is a beautiful safe haven for kids, a place where they can truly be kids, free to explore, to climb, to build & to play!  My son LOVES his Forrest school days & is so excited to come every single time. He’s told me it doesn’t feel like learning, but that he learns a new skill or some new information every week. He’s also told me that when he’s there, he doesn’t have a care in the world.  Sam & Mari are fun & patient, they genuinely enjoy what they do & it shows in the way they interact with the children & the way they teach them, about nature, seasons, building fires, carving wood etc. I’m so grateful to them & for this very special place, where my son feels so free to be himself"

"Wild Arts is a joyful, hands-on, nature-rich environment that my home-educated child has loved attending over the past two years. Sam and Mari nurture each child’s individuality, encourage collaboration and creativity, and share their deep knowledge of the local area - so much so that my 7-year-old now teaches me new things about plants, fungi, birds, and insects! My child has gained confidence, learned skills from climbing trees safely (managing risk) and working with tools, clay, wire, willow and forged finds, and has really enjoyed contributing to group projects such as building a pond and bug habitats, dens, and fairy gardens, as well as all the team games, hiking, sledding (Wild Heart Hill is a great spot for this!), yoga and even forest bathing."

"Our daughter has been attending Wild Arts for over a year now while being Home educated. Sam and Mari have created such a wonderful and inclusive forest school where each child is free to be themselves in a safe and supportive environment. Our daughter has thrived at Wild Arts and has grown in confidence, thanks to the help of Sam and Mari. We honestly can't recommend them enough!"

"Finding you guys and what you have set up at Wild heart Hill was the highlight of our half term. We all loved it and O had so much to tell me when I picked him up on the Friday, he had the best time! Luckiest kids in the world”

"My husband and I built a great relationship with Mariana over the years she was at reflections with our daughter. What can I say but what a fantastic, wonderfully arty, creative and kind practitioner she was. Our daughter would very regularly come home with new projects attached with a beaming smile of excitement when she spent the day with her. Mariana would always take the time to go into specific details about Sydney's development and growth throughout the time she spent there. I can't recommend Mariana enough for any child's positive onward learning".

"Ethan my now 4 year old son has been going to Nursery for almost 2 years. All carers have been very nice to him and help him develop to become a confident child, however Sam has always been his very favourite. Sam would always come up with amazing ideas in her atelier classes and she would treat every children with pure love. Ethan went through a rough time when he didn't want to go to nursery but when we told him Sam would be there he went happily. I could not recommend Sam enough. If you would like your child to be surrounded by professional people who treat your child with love 'Wild Arts' is your place!"

"Our son has really loved his time spent with Mariana, he has really enjoyed the creative activities they do outside and notices things in nature much more - even telling us how important it is to keep the beach clean and look after the sealife. She is brilliant with the kids! We are really excited for the Wild Arts space to provide more opportunities for the children to be outside"
